ALTA MAY KEENER Alta May Keener, 97, of Mound City, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at her home. She was born July 29, 1908 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William and Laura Adair Pemberton. She married Floyd Keener on July 19, 1932 at Kansas City,Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1991. Alta was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Mound City. She was preceded in death also by four brothers Dave, Rob, Elmer and Lee Pemberton and one sister, Lil Knight. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Krum & Bud and Jean Harvey & Don, all of Mound City,Kansas; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 5, 2006 at the First Baptist Church, Mound City,Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM, until service time. Contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or First Baptist Church Youth Group, Mound City. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
