Berdine Eloise Partney, 86, Garnett, Ks, died at Golden Heights Living Center on June 30, 2008. She was born on August 16, 1921 and raised on the family farm near Mapleton, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Lola McCollam. She was baptized on October 1929 and was a life long member of the Community of Christ Church. She graduated from Blue Mound KS High School in 1939. Mrs. Partney retired from the Tulsa Public School System in 1984 as a teacher and para-professional. She had previously worked in housekeeping at the Quality Motel in Tulsa and the dietary department for the public schools in San Angelo TX. She lived in the Tulsa, San Angelo, TX, Garnett, Ks, and Butler MO. She was preceded in death by her husband of twenty years, Ernie Partney, her parents, her four brothers James McCollam, Carl McCollam, Kenneth McCollam, and Max McCollam, and a son Tom Moore from her first marriage to the late Charles Moore. A second marriage to the late Alan Lightsey ended in divorce. She is survived by her daughter, Esther Culig of Denver, CO, her son James Moore of East St. Louis IL, step-sons Perry Partney of Tulsa OK and Kenneth Partney of Broken Arrow, OK, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday July 3, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City Kansas. Visitation will be held at 10 AM until service time at the chapel. Burial will be at the Mapleton Cemetery in Mapleton, Kansas. Contributions can be made out to the Mapleton, KS Community of Christ Church, or Multiple Sclerosis.
