Bertha May Weese Williams, age 85, of Leavenworth, formerly of Linn County, Kansas, died Thursday, April 26, 2005 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lansing, Kansas. She was born on March 31, 1919 in Topeka, the daughter of Willis and Louise K. Weickert Weese. She was a homemaker and a probate judge in Barber County for over six years. She married James G. Green Williams on August 19, 1930. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1963. She was also preceded in death by three sisters; Alice Kaaz, Louise Lemmons and Katherine Schuck and one grandson. She was a member of the Hume Christian Church , a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Kansas Peace Officers Association, and Business and Professional Women. She also enjoyed playing bridge and oil painting. She is survived by two daughters, Lou Banks of Leavenworth and Ruth Hathaway of Greenville, S.C.; one brother, Robert Weese of Mound City, Kansas; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
