Bessie Ward

Bessie Margaret Ward, 95, of Pleasanton, Kansas died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Miami County Medical Center, Paola, Kansas. She was born March 4, 1913 in Prescott, Kansas, the daughter of Charley and Emma Lowdenback Meech. She married William "Bill" Ward on November 22, 1936 at Harrisonville, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1969. Bessie worked as a seamstress for Braemoor in Pleasanton, prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Leroy, William and Floyd Meech and a brother who died in infancy; and two sisters, Nellie May Primrose and Florence Emma Dawson. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the Fairview Cemetery, Fulton, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to Children's Mercy Hospital.
