Beverly was born on August 8, 1928 to Myrtle Miller Jehu and David Jehu in Plymouth, PA. She is the oldest of her three sisters, Faye Nice, Loraine Honeywell and Millie Jenkins. Bev was active at the First Christian Church of Plymouth growing up. She played the piano and sang in the Junior Choir and sometimes played the organ. Bev graduated from Larksville High School, Larksville, PA in 1946. The day after graduation she went to work at Martz Coach Company in Wilkes-Barre doing payroll and bookkeeping. She worked there until she was married. Bill and Bev met on a blind date in 1950 and were married on May 31, 1952 at First Christian Church. They celebrated over 63 years of marriage. They established their household in Lutherville, Maryland where they purchased their first home. Together, they had four children, Philip Snyder, Nancy Killingsworth, Linda Snyder and Jeff Snyder. Bev was a dedicated mother and homemaker and was actively involved in church, the community and all of her children's activities. Their five grandchildren are Alisha White, David Snyder, Katie Fugitt, Julia Snyder and Anthony Guevara. They have three great-grandchildren Christian, Calvin and Carson White. Bev played the piano, organ and sang in the church choir in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Indiana and Kansas. She was a gifted musician and always enjoyed playing and singing with family and friends, joining in with her rich alto voice. A life-long crafter, Bev crocheted lap blankets for Cancer Action, and has always had many projects in the works at the same time. In addition to her commitments at church with the Women's Association, Missions Committee, Senior Luncheons and Circle, she volunteered at Scarborough Elementary through the Olathe School District Seniors Serving School program. Bev also completed more than 8,000 hours as a volunteer with Olathe Medical Center. Both Bev and Bill served as election workers for many years in Johnson County. Bev and Bill traveled to Guam, Hawaii and Germany and many places throughout the United States to visit family and friends. While in Germany, they were also able to visit five other countries. Bev's life has been characterized by her grace, commitment to family, friends and community and her faithfulness to her Lord Jesus Christ.
