Bradley Jonathan Metcalf, age 61, Linn Valley, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was born on September 29, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of William Edward and Dorothy Virginia Brown Metcalf. Brad has a son Bradley, Jr., (BJ) from a previous marriage. He met Cynthia Marquis and they were united in marriage July 19, 1996 in Maui, Hawaii. Brad and Cindy lived in Shawnee, Kansas with BJ until he finished high school.
Brad worked as a pressman in the printing business for about 20 years until 1998 when he decided he wanted to start his own handyman business. Together they started Metcalf’s Handyman Service and he enjoyed working in that business as long as his health allowed.
In 2002 Brad and Cindy moved to the country. The Kansas City man was happy to be living in the country. Brad loved spending time with Cindy’s mom and dad. He enjoyed learning about life on a farm, and Wayne’s cattle and crops. Brad also loved animals. He and Cindy rescued five horses and six dogs besides having several other dogs during their time together.
Brad didn’t know a stranger. He wanted to be part of his community. He considered the New Lancaster Church and Community his family and loved everyone. He loved driving around to see who was out and about so he could stop and say Hi.
Brad enjoyed playing scratch off lottery, collecting Hot Wheels Cars with Brad Jr., and was a fan of Bret Favre.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother in law, Keith Kelley. Brad is survived by his wife, Cindy, a son, Bradley Jonathan Metcalf Jr.(Kristen), two brothers, Bill Metcalf(Lisa), and Bob Metcalf(Faye), three sisters, Carol Kelley, Cathi Whim(Chris), and Carrie Metcalf (Rick Hessling) and three grandchildren, Adalese Mae Brown, Annalyn Michelle Metcalf and Bradley Jonathan Metcalf III. Brad also had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that he loved dearly as well as too many friends to count.
Memorial service will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the New Lancaster United Methodist Church. Burial in the New Lancaster Cemetery. Individual Respects and Guest Registry can be made from 9 am to 4 pm Friday, February 5 followed by visitation from 4 to 7 pm at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
