Carol Diane Cornett, age 66, Garnett, Kansas passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her home in Garnett. She was born on June 27, 1951 at Quenemo, Kansas the daughter of Clinton and Kathleen Knight Sweetwood. She married Raymond Cornett on June 27, 1975 at the Linn County Courthouse. Family was the most important thing in Carol''s life. Whether it was fishing with her dad while growing up, or just having family and friends around to have a good time and make memories. She enjoyed camping, her dogs and playing with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Quenemo First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol is survived by her husband, Raymond, two sons, Bill Cornett and Teresa and Rusty Cornett and Debra; a brother, Fred Sweetwood; two sisters, Madeline Carson and Pearl Callahan; five grandchildren: Caitlin, Kimberly, Timothy, Preston and Austin, and one great grandson, Derek. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in the Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 pm to service time at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Carol Cornett Memorial Fund c/o Schneider Funeral Home, Box 304, La Cygne, KS 66040.
