Carol Johnson

Carol Jean Johnson, age 76, formerly of Olathe and Mound City, Kansas passed away on Thursday January 11, 2018. She was born at Mound City on June 23, 1941, 1the daughter of Ross and Audrey Hixson Huckaby. She graduated from Mound City High School and Fort Scott Community College. She married Richard Johnson in 1959. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1965. While living in Mound City, she operated the Village Inn Restaurant. She later worked in the Kansas City area in a variety of sales and accounting jobs, as an office manager for Environmental Systems, Inc., and as a home care provider for Lake Mary Center. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Paige Sayers and a brother Harold Ray Huckaby. Carol Jean is survived by two grandchildren, Brandon and Bailee Sayers, and a great-grand daughter Mackenzie, two sisters, Doris Lindell and Dorothy New, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.
