Carol Nation

Carol Ruth Nation, 76, of La Cygne, Kansas died at 3:50 am, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Prescott Country View Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. Carol was born April 17, 1939 in Centerville, Kansas to Hugh and Ruth (King) Johnson. Carol graduated from Mound City High School with the Class of 1957. She worked at the University of Kansas in housekeeping and also at SeKan Printing in Fort Scott. While her health allowed, Carol enjoyed going to the Senior Center and attending the Calvary Baptist Church in La Cygne. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janice Nation; four brothers, George, Marion, Arthur and Eldon Johnson; two sisters, Rita Wurtz and Shirley Smith. Carol is survived by one son, David Nation of Mound City; two daughters, Gina Clark of North Augusta, South Carolina and Virginia Simons of Mound City; one brother, Clifford Johnson of Paola, KS; and one sister, Wanda Cosens of Excelsior Springs, MO; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place according to Carol's wishes. A Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Hospice, Pittsburg, Kansas.
