Cecil Ray McKinley Jr., age 83, Hume, Missouri passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was born on May 30, 1938 in Appleton City, Missouri the son of Cecil Ray McKinley, Sr. and Mary Henrietta Winter. He graduated high school from the Ballard School District in 1957. He was united in marriage to Sharon Morrow on September 15, 1957. They made their home in Ballard farming and ranching. They then moved to Liberty where he ranched as well. Then, it was on to Adrian and at that time was working at R.B. Rice followed by a move to Crawford Farms where he managed the ranch and farm. The family then made a move to Leeton working the McKinley Ranch, working cattle with Oppenheimer Company. The McKinley family ended up in Hume in 1972, buying the Finis Moss Farm. Cecil farmed and worked at the Hume Elevator for many years. After selling the farm, moving into town, he became the Maintenance Supervisor the City of Hume. He and Sharon bought some lots in town and built their house, then eventually retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nina Sue McKinley. Cecil is survived by Sharon McKinley of the home, two sons, Anthony Ray McKinley and wife Mary, and Timothy Fay McKinley and wife Karen, and daughter, Margaret Elaine Sears and Husband Kent, four grandchildren, Kenny and wife Debi McKinley, Stephanie Chaplin and Husband Chris , Kristopher Sears, Victoria Sears, seven great grandchildren, Dawson Chaplin, Skyler Chaplin, Sidnee Moore, Layknn Moore, Kuper Moore, Christa Vaughn and Matt Chaplin, and six great, great, grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Hume Christian Church. A visitation will follow the service. Contributions are suggested to the Hume Fair Association. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
