Cettie Laird

Cettie E. Laird, age 99, Mound City, Kansas died Wednesday August 18, 2010 at Golden Heights in Garnett, Kansas. She was born on August 17, 1911 at Blue Mound, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Della Mitchell Curran. She graduated from Burbank, California High School. She married Leo Laird on August 4, 1935 at the Wall Street Christian Church. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1989. Also preceding her was a brother, Gregg Curran, and sister, Dorothea Edmonds. She was a member of the Mound City Christian Church, former member of the Order of Eastern Star and Rainbow EHU. She is survived by three daughters: Dorothy Stites and Harry of St John, Kansas, Nancy Ewing and Jerry of Blue Mound, Kansas and Carol Wood and Bob of Mound City, Kansas, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, and a sister in law Hazel Curran. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday August 21, 2010 at the Mound City Christian Church. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery.
