Charlie Masoner

Charlie "The Car Wash Guy" Masoner of Iola, Kanas, formerly of Mound City, Kansas, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Fountain Villa in Iola. He was born on August 7, 1933 near Prescott, Kansas the son of Charlie M. and Nellie Dasher Masoner. He graduated from high school and attended one year of college at Warrensburg, Missouri. Charles was an Army veteran. He married Virginia Walker on January 22, 1971. During his working career, Charlie worked in insurance, construction, trucking, owned a grocery store, locker plant; and most recently before retirement, storage units and a car wash. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mound City, Scottish Rite Consistory of Fort Scott and Mirza Temple, Pittsburg, Kansas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Masoner, two sisters, Ella Beckman and Eula Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; a daughter, Jo Ermel, husband Jim and family; Lacy, Chase and Jacy of Uniontown, Kansas; a son, Dallas Masoner, wife, Mindi and family Sierra and Rhyan of Chanute, Kansas; four sisters, Helen Ballah, Doris Rogers, Charlene Marley and Naomi Lane; and a daughter, Carolyn McAtee of Kansas City, Kansas. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, Octoer 7, 2005 at the Woodland Cemetery in Mound City. No formal visitiation. The family suggests contributions to the Hope Lodge, Allen County Hospice or the Federated Church in Mound City.
