Chester Carpenter

Chester E. Carpenter, age 90, LaCygne, Kansas died Monday January 8, 2007 at the Louisburg Care Center. He was born on May 24, 1916 in LaCygne the son of Chester and Clara Cole Carpenter. While employed he worked for Boeing Aircraft, Westinghouse, custodian at the LaCygne Grade School and finally in security at the Kansas City Power & Light generating station at LaCygne. He married Ruby Phalen on March 29, 1936. She preceded him in death on February 11, 1997. Also preceding him was a son, Gary Carpenter and a daughter, Thelma Gail Carpenter. Chester was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday January 10, at the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM until service time at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
