Daniel Atkinson

Daniel Ray "Dan" Atkinson, age 55, Mound City, Kansas passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Providence Medical Center. He was born on January 20, 1961 at Lawrence, Kansas the son of Ray and Margaret Malone Atkinson. Dan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a construction superintendent for Grand Construction. He married Corinna Henderson on May 5, 2011. He was a member of the Carpenter''s Union and a minister in the United Christian Faith Ministries. Dan was a hard worker who always put his family first. He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife, Corinna; father, Ray; four sons; Zachary Pederson, Clayton and Levi Atkinson and Henry Jones; a daughter, Millie Jones; brother, Timothy Atkinson; and a granddaughter, Rylee Atkinson. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas at a later date. The family suggests contributions to Concern Inc.
