Donieta Vay Davis, age 71, Hume, Missouri passed away on Saturday April 27, 2019 at her rural Hume home. She was born on May 20, 1947 at Lebanon, Missouri the daughter of, Farrell Gene and Bonnie Eilenstein Patton. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, "Jerry" Davis, on Valentine''s Day, 1974, so he''d never be able to forget their anniversary. Donieta loved the role of mother and homemaker. After moving to Hume, she adopted the entire community, and was a whirlwind of a volunteer for years. She served her church, the Hume United Methodist Church, the Hume Community Center, and the Hume School District with limitless energy and spunky wit. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene. Donieta is survived by her husband, Jerry; mother, Bonnie Patton; two sons, Gregory Patton and Todd Dalzell; a brother, Gary Patton and wife Twyla; two grandchildren, Riley and Rachel Patton; and a niece Angie LaFronz.

Funeral service will be 10 am Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Hume United Methodist Church. Burial in the Underwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to service time at the church. Contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children''s Hospital or Hospice Compassus, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 525, Pleasanton, KS 66075.
