Dorothy Waldmer

Dorothy Violet Waldmer, 88, formerly of Mound City, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville, MO. Dorothy was born April 27, 1927 in rural Mound City to Howard O. and Minnie P. (Hollis) Croan. She was the oldest of three children. Dorothy graduated from Mound City High School with the class of 1944. She married Herman "Wally" Waldmer and they spent 64 beautiful years together before his death on November 17, 2010. Dorothy was a very faithful member of the Elm Branch Christian Church in Aurora, Missouri as long as her health allowed. Also preceding Dorothy in death were two sons, Herman Waldmer, Jr. and John Waldmer; and one daughter, Pamela Waldmer. Survivors include two sons, Michael Waldmer and wife Kathy of Holiday, FL, and Bruce Waldmer and wife Cheryl of Conway, AR; one brother, Lewis Croan and wife Emma of Harrisonville, MO; one sister, Barbara Furse of Mound City; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
