Eddie Martin

Edgar Claude Eddie Martin age 73 of Pleasanton, Ks. was born March 9, 1940, the son of Will Cley and Opal Nadine (Shawgo) Enlow Martin in Martin City, Missouri . He passed away October 26, 2013 of a massive heart attack doing what he loved to do--running a dozer for one of his sons. He graduated from Foster, Mo High School in 1957. Married and divorced Sonita Tillery of Rich Hill Mo. From this union, 3 sons were born that Eddie was very proud of, Jimmie, Loren and Lonnie. Eddie was a fisherman. He loved telling a big whooper of a fish story. He also enjoyed tinkering in his shop on wood crafting or metal lathing or repairing small motors or computers; he also enjoyed visiting with his friends at the café and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was especially proud of his sons and grandsons and his granddaughters. He loved the outdoors. He made his career with heavy diesel equipment either as an operator or as a diesel mechanic. As a dozer operator, Eddie was the best. And as a Diesel Mechanic, there has never been a machine Eddie could not fix. He will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death are his parents and 6 siblings. Survivors are a half brother, Milton Earl Enlow, Foster, Mo. and 6 children. Jimmie Martin and wife Linda of Pleasanton, Ks. Loren Martin and wife Stephanie of Springfield, Mo. Lonnie Martin and wife Kristina of Pleasanton, Ks. Eddie was extremely proud to call Cole Fortman his son also. Years later, Eddie remarried and divorced with 2 more children, Mandy and Andy. Also surviving are his grand children: Grand daughters: Angie Lee Martin, Hailei Keilani Marie Fortman. Grandsons are : John Rees Martin, Bradlie Cole Martin, Steven Kyle Martin, Aaron Douglas Martin, Lonnie Shane Martin, Skyler Dale Martin, Sheldon Lee Martin, Brylan Issac Fortman, and 7 great grand children with at least 2 more on the way. Funeral service will be 11 AM Wednesday October 30, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton Chapel. Burial in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Prescott Food Pantry.
