Edna Schasteen

Edna Schasteen, age 95 of Mound City, Kansas died Saturday October 19, 2013 at the Prescott Country View Nursing Home. She was born on July 22, 1918 in Linn County Kansas the daughter of Ira and Rachelle Meech Walker. Edna was a graduate of Mound City High School. She Married Edgar " Buck" Schasteen on September 11, 1938, he preceded her in death on October 15, 2005. Edna was a member of the Mound City Federated Church, and worked as a homemaker raising and taking care of her daughter Janet. Edna was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Jake and Mark Walker. She is survived by her daughter Janet Cox and husband Nolen of Leawood, Kansas. Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday October 23, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Mound City Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 Pm Tuesday October 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery.
