J. Frank Witcher age 93 yrs and 10 days, went to be with our Lord on the 24th day of October, 2013 at his home with his wife at his side in Havana, Kansas. Funeral Services will be11:00 a.m., Tuesday October 29, 2013 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Munson officiating. Friends may register on Monday, October 29, 2013 from 9:00 a.m., - 8:00 p.m., at Webb and Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Following the services in Independence Mr. Witcher will be taken to LaCygne, Kansas where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church, with Reverend Kevin Metsinger of Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple of Shawnee, Kansas will officiate, burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery in La Cygne, Kansas with Military Funeral Honors provided by the Fort Riley Funeral Honors Team. Friends in LaCygne may register on October 31, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Calvary Baptist Church in LaCygne. Memorial Contributions may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church in Independence and may be left with the funeral home. Mr. Withcer was born October 13, 1920 to the late David and Bess (McClannahan) Witcher in Boicourt, Kansas. On February 16, 1968 at Boicourt, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Alice Rhoades who survives at the home. Frank served in the United States Army, he was a Veteran who served with the 89th Signal Company in WWII after serving his country he went to further his education attending Kansas State College, graduated on May 28, 1950 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Northrop Grumman from the time of his graduation to retirement in 1984. In addition to his wife Alice, he is survived by 3 daughters Judy Wade of the home; Jewell and Ed Flemming of Pleasanton, Kansas; Joanne and Alan Washburn of Lamar, Missouri and Grandchildren.
