Glen Jackson

July 20, 1946 — February 5, 2020


Glen Dee Jackson, 73 of Linn Valley, KS passed on February 5, 2020 at his home with family and Vitas Hospice at his side after an extended illness.


He was born July 20, 1946 to Maggie Palmer Jackson and Darby Jackson in Lejunior, KY.  At age 18 he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country as a Specialist E5 and fought in the Vietnam War.  He was stationed at Irwin Army Base Ft. Riley, KS where he met the love of his life Pamela Jean Hottman and after a whirlwind romance, they married Mary 5, 1967 at the Grace Baptist Church in Chapman, KS.  They resided on Ft. Riley Military Base until stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.  After being honorably discharged, he resided with his family in Michigan employed with the Fisher Corporation for 10 years.  The family then moved to Kansas, where he helped on the family farm and was employed by CE Ershams in Enterprise, KS.  He was later employed by the Dickinson County Sheriffs Office as a Deputy, and City of Enterprise as a police officer, City of Hope as a police officer, and the City of Enterprise Maintenance Crew where he endured an injury forcing him into retirement.  They late settled in Linn Valley, KS.


Glen is survived by his wife Pam of the home; son, John Reed Jackson (Jean) of Dell Rapids, SD and John’s children Kyle Jackson (Samantha) and their 3 children, Kobi Anderson (Andrew) and their 2 children, Joshua Jackson (Chelsey) and their 2 children.  His daughter, Carol Sue Murrison (Corey) and their children Logan Murrison, Brayden Murrison (Allyson) and their child, Taylor Murrison (Kyle) and their child, Peyton Murrison and Danica Murrison.  His brother, Reed Jackson (Genny) of Closplint, KY; three nephews, Curtis, Walter, and Timothy and their families.


Glen was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Palmer Jackson; father, Darby Jackson; and brother, Henry Jackson.


A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with inurnment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Enterprise, Kansas.
