Glenn Elton Karr

Glenn Elton Karr, age 85, Paola, Kansas passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was born in rural Paola the son of Ivan and Mary Gowing Karr. He graduated from Paola High School. He then attended Independence Community College where he played football and met his future bride, Jacqueline Diamond. The two were united in marriage on June 28, 1959. The two attended Kansas State College of Pittsburg, Glenn playing football at Pitt as well. After college Glenn joined his father raising/training racing Quarter Horses, competing all over the United States. To be able to follow their horses, he and Jacque turned to the cattle business. They also enjoyed attending all sorts of activities for their children and grandchildren, rarely missing any home or away events in their high school and college years. He had a special love for the Paola Panthers and Pitt State Gorillas where his children and many of his grandchildren attended. He was especially proud that 3 generations, two sons and two grandsons, also played Gorilla football. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed raising hounds and bird dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Georgia Elliott. Glenn is survived by his wife, Jacque, two sons, Scott Karr, and John Karr and wife Lisa, a daughter, Suzy Karigan and husband John, nine grandchildren, Bryce (Courtney), Jordan (MacKenzie), Brooke, Taelor, Cale (Kelsie), Conner, Gunnar, Chandler and Jake, and eight great grandchildren, Atlas, Emilia, Cashton, Crosby, Laken, Hampton, Deacon and Elizabeth, with the ninth great grand, Brecken on the way.

Memorial service will be held 11 am Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the New Lancaster United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10 am to service time at the Church.
