Harriet Schmitz

September 23, 1943 — July 21, 2022

Harriet Virginia Schmitz, age 78, Mound City, Kansas passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022.  She was born on September 23, 1943 in Prescott, Arizona the daughter of Harry and Virginia Ball Maxwell.  She graduated from Prescott High School and received state and federal accreditations in credit counseling.  She was united in marriage to Larry Schmitz on March 25, 1977.  She enjoyed animals and square dancing.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church.  Harriet was a conservative lady that was very involved in Republican Women's activities.  She was a district director for the Oklahoma Republican Women.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Harriet is survived by her husband, Larry Schmitz, extended family and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Curry Cemetery west of Mound City, Kansas.  Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Monday, July 25 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.  Contributions are suggested to Regina's Rescue.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
