Irma Hyson

Irma Grace Hyson, age 99, Blue Mound, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Life Care Center in Osawatomie. She was born on November 17, 1918 at Blue Mound the daughter of Charles Lewis and Jesse Edith Sutterby Green. She graduated from Blue Mound High School. On June 20, 1942, she married Edward Paul Hyson at Escondido, California. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1972. She was employed as a secretary during her working years. Irma was a member of the Blue Mound Federated Church, the Jolly Sewing Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Married and Glad Of It Club. She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son in law, Nancy Lou and Robert Walker, a brother Raymond Green and a sister Lillian Lou Wilson. Irma is survived by three daughters: Rita Beckford and husband Dwayne, Mary Abraham and husband Dan, and Joyce Burch and husband Jim; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Graveside funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until departure for cemetery at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Blue Mound Federated Church.
