Jack Jennings, age 73, of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Saturday July 19, 2008 at the Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott, Kansas. He was born July 3, 1935 in rural Linn County south east of Pleasanton, Kansas, the son of Oliver and Elva Jackson Jennings. He Married Geneva Purdy on November 23, 1957 in Pleasanton, Kansas. He worked for Smith-Miller, and was a backhoe owner operator for 36 years contracting to Frisco Railroad and worked for Rural Water District #2 for 18 years as a maintenance man. Survivors include his wife Geneva of Pleasanton Kansas; a son, John Jennings of Pleasanton, Kansas; a niece, Tammy Pruitt who he consider like a daughter of Sedalia, Missouri; a brother, Gary Jennings of Flagstaff, Arizona; and a sister, Lois Simons of Mound City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday July 22, at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 pm Monday July 21, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pleasanton, Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
