Jerry DeWayne Clark Sr. age 71, La Cygne, Kansas passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. He was born at Newport, Arkansas on December 8, 1947, the son of Ace Clinton and Mazie Pilgrim Clark. Jerry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to go camping, hunting, fishing, have fish fries, to go dancing, have barbecues, visit with family and friends, and to read. He farmed with his brother Clint for many years, then later with his nephews Mitch and Tracy. When he left the farm, he went to work for the Miami County Road and Bridge Department until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Debra McCurdy on September 30, 1972. Jerry was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Billy Clark, two brothers, Clinton and Burnice Clark and two sisters, Iva Mae Bradley and Myrtle Woods. Jerry is survived by his wife, Debra, two sons, Jerry "JD" Clark Jr. and Jami, and Gregory Clark and Fronda, two daughters, Carolyn Clark and Jeffrey and Kimberly Riley, numerous grand and great grandchildren. Funeral service 11 am Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Visitation 10 am to service at the Church. Contributions suggested to American Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
