Jerry Mincks

Jerry Shane Mincks, age 51, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Monday, February 20, 2023.  He was born in Harrisonville, Missouri on October 29, 1971 the son of Jerry Gene and Myrle Dean(Neal) Purdy.  He graduated from Pleasanton High School in the Class of 1990.  He then attended Coffeyville Community College where he played defensive end on the football team.  As a freshman, he was on the team that won the National Junior College Championship.  He was united in marriage to Laura Lynn Maki.  To this union, one daughter was born.  She preceded him in death.  Shane didn't know a stranger.  He loved Chiefs Football.  He enjoyed fishing and picked up golf  later in life.  He was a jokester and enjoyed "pestering folks", in a good way.  He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Weslie Mincks.  Shane is survived by his daughter, Felicia Mincks, five brothers, Rob Purdy(Bekki), Jimmy Mincks(Lisa), Deanie Mincks(Debbie), Dale Mincks(Kathy), and Charles Mincks(Melissa), five sisters, Vonda Geeding(Pete), Shonna Padgett(Joe), Rita Struble(Mike), Carol Huff, and Donna Jones(Ronnie), brother in law, Danny Looney, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, February 24 at the Pleasanton Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shane Mincks Memorial Fund, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O.
