Joan Morris

Joan Morris, 79, of Mound City, Kansas, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at her son's home in Olathe, Kansas. She was born March 3, 1929 in Mound City, Kansas, the daughter of Cecil and Margaret Bruce Boots. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Contel, the city of Mound City and at the Linn County Courthouse, retiring from Sugar Valley Electric. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mound City where she had served on the church board, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Stephen's Ministry. She was married to William Morris on June 20, 1948. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1988. Survivors include three sons, Kenny Morris & Katherine and Cecil Morris & Karen, all of Olathe, Kansas and Mickey Morris of Mound City, Kansas; one sister, Mary Louise Madl of Mound City, Kansas; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Mound City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Friday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City. Contributions are suggested to the United Methodist Church.
