JOYCE SCHMIDT Joyce Harriet Dunn Schmidt, 78, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died Saturday, October er 21, 2006 at Life Care Center, Osawatomie. She was born May 15, 1928 in Valentine, Nebraska, the daughter of John Everette and Sadie Evelyn Kaplan Dunn. She graduated from Valentine High School in 1946 and continued her education at Chillicothe Business School in Chillicothe, Missouri. After graduation she returned home to work in the Cherry County Court House. She married and had two daughters. She spent many years of her life working as a legal secretary. She volunteered as an organist and pianist for church in Wichita, Kansas as well as playing for many wedding and funerals. She loved playing the organ and her piano. Joyce volunteered at the Valentine Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, Arlan Dewey Schmidt and her brother, Jerry Grant Dunn. She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Findley & husband, Dennis of Mound City, Kansas and Nancy Seidler & husband, Jerry of Manchester, Missouri; three grandchildren Jenny Knippa & husband, Erik of Augusta, Georgia and Denise and John Findley, both of Mound City, Kansas; two great grandchildren, Dominik Caelen and Saraphynn Nicole Knippa of Augusta, Georgia. Joyce will be cremated with Memorial Services and inurnment at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, Nebraska at a future date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Residencies of Pleasanton. Arrangements are under the direction of the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Kansas. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coffelschneider.com
