Juanita Davey

Juanita Edith Davey, 93, of Mound City, Kansas, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Countryview Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. She was born February 9, 1912 in Adrian, Missouri, the daughter of Perry and Clara McCoy Davidson. On August 14, 1929 she married Roy Davey in Nevada, Missouri. Juanita was a member of the Federated Church in Mound City. She was an avid antique collector and owned antique shops in Shawnee and Mound City, Kansas. She also had a special love for horses. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Roy on April 22, 1998, her parents, one sister, Ruth Gowdy and one grandson. She is survived by three sons; Don Davey of Shawnee, Kansas, Jim Davey of Pittsburg, Missouri and Doug Davey of Mound City, Kansas; one daughter, Jeannine Hinsley of Lake Helen, Florida, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Services were held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Federated Church, Mound City, Kansas. Burial will be in the Garnett Cemetery, Garnett, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the Federated Church, Mound City or Prescott Countryview Nursing Home Activity Fund.
