Kenneth Eugene "Ken" Matlock, of Mound City, Kansas, age 83, passed away August 6, 2008 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Matlock and Myrtle Krous. He was born June 15, 1925 at Kansas City, Kansas. He married Ruby Bush on October 9, 1973. Ken was a truck driver for 41 years, driving first his own trucks and then retiring from Fleming Foods; Teamsters and then was a Security Guard at KCP&L for seven years. Ken is a veteran of WWII and served in the Merrill Marauders in Burma and India. Ken leaves his survivors; wife, Ruby Matlock; two sons, Kenenth Matlock, Independence, Missouri and Kelly Matlock, Orlando, Florida; and four step children, Charlie Bush, Afton, Oklahoma, Diana Bush, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Ronald Bush, Pleasanton, Kansas and David Bush, Mound City, Kansas and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Ken was a quiet man and had the respect of all his family and friends. He enjoyed his retirement in Mound City, Kansas with his wife, Ruby, both loving to fish and be loving grandparents to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, August 8, 2008 at the National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas with military honors.
