Kenneth Rowley, 89, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, MO. He was born June 17, 1919 in Prescott, Kansas, the son of Gordon and Flora Rowley. He graduated from Mound City High School and Fort Scott Community College. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the United States Army. He married Dorothy Marsh who preceded him on May 28, 1980. He later married Gladys Snyder who also preceded him on April 24, 1995. Kenneth was a farmer and stockman. He taught school at Mantey, Pleasant Valley, Rock Hill, Parker and Garnett, retiring in the 1970's. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ft. Scott Consistory, Scottish Rite, VFW and American Legion, Grange and the American Shorthorn Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves an extended family and many friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to St. Luke's Hospital c/o the funeral home.
