Lela Spillman

Lela Ann "Dee" Spillman, age 81, Blue Mound, Kansas passed away on Friday October 11, 2013. She was born in Bourbon County, Kansas on August 20, 1932 the daughter of William and Alma Tinsley Johnson. She graduated from Blue Mound High School in the Class of 1950. She married Russell Floyd Spillman on June 18, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2004. She owned and operated Hill Top Beauty Shop. Dee was a member of the Blue Mound United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Red Hats, and enjoyed dancing and playing pitch. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren Ryder Spillman and Bayley Spillman, a sister Betty Spillman and brother, Frank Johnson. She is survived by her son Michael Allen Spillman and wife Michelle, and their children Jeremy Spillman and his daughter Keelie, Aiyana Spillman and Julian Black, son Kenneth Floyd Spillman and wife Carlene, and children Hannah Wimsett and husband Ben and their daughter Aspen, and Madison Beckman, a daughter Patricia Lynn Crystal and husband Mark and their daughter Devann Crystal, a brother Don Johnson, and a sister Dorothy Spillman. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday at the Blue Mound United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Sunny Slope Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.
