Lila Freeburg

Lila Mae Hess Freeburg, 73, of Hume, Missouri, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at her home. She was born July 16, 1933 in Hume, Missouri, the daughter of Norman & Vena Davidson Hess. She was a graduate of Hume High School. Lila was employed as an LPN with the Prescott Countryview Nursing Home, prior to retirement. She served on the election board for the city of Hume for a number of years. She always enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Verl Hess and a son, Robert Louis Doughty. Survivors include her companion, Larry Myers of Hume, Missouri; three sons, N. Chandler Doughty of Rich Hill, Missouri, Edward Doughty of Hattisburg, Mississippi and Rick Doughty of St. George Island, Florida; one daughter, Marilyn Feltz of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, J.D. Hess, two sisters, Hazel Shelton & Helen Meek; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the United Methodist Church, Hume, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6-7 PM, Saturday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Hume. Contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
