Lois Ann Moore Coots February 13, 1953 - July 19, 2017 Lois Ann Moore Coots, 64, of Houston, Texas passed peacefully on July 19, 2017, following a courageous battle with MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome) and AML (acute myeloid leukemia). She was born February 13, 1953 in Butler, Missouri to Anna Lee and Loy Moore. Growing up, she was active in 4-H, church choir, school band and enjoyed time with her siblings on the family farm. A 1980 graduate of Emporia State University, Lois Ann moved to Houston shortly after school to pursue a role at Gulf Oil, which paved the way for a successful career in the oil and gas sector. While she loved her work and colleagues, her daughters took center stage. From softball and student council to college and careers, she supported each of their endeavors and marveled in their successes. Lois Ann loved traveling and was always planning her next big adventure. She will be remembered for her graceful demeanor, eternal optimism and unwavering sense of humor. Lois Ann was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her adoring daughters Kyra Ann Coots, Kylee Beth Ngo, and her husband Jeff, all of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her brother Jimmie Moore and wife Rhonda of La Cygne, KS; brother Russell Rusty Moore of Paola, KS; nieces and nephews Charlie Moore and wife Jolene; Brian Moore and wife Jennifer; Crystal Moore, Dusty Moore, Nikki Rhynerson; a host of beloved great nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks for the loving care Lois Ann received from the doctors, nurses and medical staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center. You''re invited to join the family for visitation, Monday, July 24, 2017, at Schneider Funeral Home, from 6pm to 8pm, in La Cygne, Kansas. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at 11am, at Calvary Baptist Church with interment immediately following at Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society(LLS) or Be the Match c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box 304, La Cygne, Kansas 66040. A celebration of life will be held in the near future in Houston, Texas.
