Margie Elaine Hughes, age 87 of Pleasanton, Kansas died Friday November 1, 2013 at the Medicalodge Fort Scott. She was born on June 17, 1926 at Boicourt, Kansas the daughter of Paul and Laura Cox Black. Margie married Rolla "Jake" Brown on June 4, 1945 at Mound City Kansas to this union five children were born, he preceded her in death on January 12, 1975. She then married Bill Hughes on December 16, 1976 at Miami, Oklahoma, he preceded her in death on January 19, 1991. Margie enjoyed going and watching pool shooting leagues, and going fishing. She was also preceded in death by her parents two sons: Terry and Ricky Brown; a brother Buck, two sisters: Nina, Betty; and long time companion Everett "Brownie" Brown. She is survived by a son Billy Brown and wife Julie, two daughters: Linda Hall and husband David, and Debby Lewis and husband Jackie; thirteen grandchildren: Kelly Harvey and husband Justin, Chad Allen and wife Tara, Brent Brown and wife Mendy, Shelly Cooper and husband Dale, Amber Trahan and husband Mike, Brandy Britt and husband David, Shane Lewis, Shawn Lewis, Billy Brown and wife Nicole, Brad Brown, Kelsey Brown, Brady Barnes, and husband Wayne and Casey Breeding; and 25 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton, Chapel. Visitation will be held form 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday November 5, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the IRSF and may be left in C/O the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kansas 66075.
