Melba Cornelius

Melba Maxine Reinke-Cornelius, age 81, of LaCygne, Kansas died Tuesday March 25, 2008 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas. She was born March 29, 1926 in Boicourt, Kansas the daughter of Lawrence and Edna Reinke. She graduated from LaCygne High School in 1944. She worked with the United Ladies Garment Workers Union. Melba also was a Union Liaison officer for the United Way and AFL-CIO. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, LaCygne Sr Citizens and the VFW Auxillary. She married Raymond Cornelius who preceded her in death in 2001, also was preceded by her daughter Marsha Jane Fisher Birge in 1989. Survivors include sons; Vernie Fisher and wife Linda, Medway, Ohio, Rodger Cornelius of LaCygne, Randy Cornelisu and wife Debbie of LaCygne, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday March 28, 2008 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaCygne. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home LaCygne, Kansas. A memorial service will conclude the visitation at 7 PM.
