Myrtle Maude Mayhugh Wood, 90, a long time resident of Prescott, Kansas passed away on Wednesday July 11, 2018. She was born December 19, 1927 in Prescott, Kansas. The daughter of Orville D. and Villa F. Davis Mayhugh. She married Daniel J. (D.J./Jim) Wood on December 14, 1946. She was proceeded in death by her father, mother, husband and daughter Patricia Wood. Two brothers Orville Mayhugh and Wesley Mayhugh, two sisters Elda Fletcher and Dorothy Heitz . Maude is survived by three sons Dannie Wood and wife Phronsie, Independence, MO. Mike Wood and wife Sherry, Kansas City, MO. Dennis Wood and wife Lavera, Springhill, KS. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Grandson Michael Wood and wife Paula, Lees Summit, MO. great grandson Anthony Vardaman and great granddaughter Cheyanne Wood. Granddaughter Melissa Garnica and husband Luis, Tyler, Texas, two great granddaughters Paige Canino and Peyton Garnica. Granddaughter Heather Van Hoecke and husband Kyle, Overland Park, Kansas and great grandson Liam Van Hoecke. Granddaughter Katie Wood and fiancé Monish Prabhakar, San Francisco California. She worked at the Prescott Country View Nursing Home for many years and was a member of the Prescott Senior Citizens and United Methodist Church. She had just received her 60 year pin from the Order of Eastern Star. Visitation will be Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM at The Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton, Kansas. Funeral services will be Thursday 10:30 AM, July 19, 2018 at the Prescott Methodist Church interment in the Prescott Cemetery. Family request contributions to the Prescott United Methodist Church.
