Nancy Vail

Nancy Ann Vail, 82, of Amoret, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Bates County Memorial Hospital. Nancy was born March 31, 1933 in Amoret, Missouri to James Ray and Edna Beatrice (Jacobs) Wisdom. She graduated from Hume High School with the Class of 1951. On April 5, 1954 she married Herschel Leon Vail. Together they raised nine children. Nancy was an extremely hard worker who gave everything she had to provide for her family. For many years she worked on the trash route she and Herschel started. After Herschel''s accident, Nancy continued to run the business doing books and the physical labor with never a complaint. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Hershel on December 7, 2014; three sons, Chris Vail, Darrel Vail, and Dennis Vail; two brothers, Ray Edward "Bud" Wisdom and Delbert Daune "Bucky" Wisdom; one sister, Glessner Faye Smith; one granddaughter, Candice Vail; and one daughter-in-law, Tammy Vail. Nancy is survived by two sons, Kenny Vail and Corrie of Freeman, MO and Curtis Vail and Vicki J. of Butler, MO; four daughters, Ruth Quirk of Independence, MO, Vicky Vail and and Anthony Lunde of Amersterdam, MO, Sharon Tennison, and Linda Richey; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two nieces, Phyllis Hinsley and Kim Wisdom. The memorial service for Nancy will be Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. A visitation will take place from 10:00 am until service time. The family will have a private burial at Woodfin Cemetery, Foster, Missouri at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home at PO.
