Nellie Ashley

Nellie Maude Ashley, age 87, of Pleasanton, Kansas died Wednesday October 30, 2013 at the Prescott Country View Nursing Home. She was born on May 14, 1926 the daughter of Thomas and Nellie Leonard Ashley. Nellie worked at Bendix Corporation as an assembly line worker, and loved her animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Glenn Ashley, two sisters: Lucile Ewing and Donna Cook. Survivors include a son Tom Marshall and wife Kendra of Pleasanton, two daughters: Robin Umphenour and husband Randy of Pleasanton and Bonnie Burr of Independence, Missouri, thirteen grand children, nineteen great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Services for Nellie will be held at 1:00 pm Monday November 4, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday November 3, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the wayside waifs and may be left in c/o the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 525 Pleasanton, Kansas 66075.
