Oral Finkenbinder

Oral Victor "Vic" Finkenbinder, age 70, Spring Hill, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his home holding his wife''s hand. Vic was born December 28, 1946 to Bryce and Virginia Giffin Finkenbinder in Gas, Kansas. He married Vicki Riebe of Girard, Kansas on September 28, 1968. To this union, one son, Vernon, was born. Victor graduated from Iola, High School and Allen County Community College. He received his Bachelor''s and Master''s Degree in Music Education from Pittsburg State University. Vic taught music for thirteen and one half years in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. He worked for the City of Mound City, computerizing the billing system prior to taking over as city clerk. He continued to computerize all the records while in that position. After moving to Overland Park, Victor worked for Equifax, Sears and spent fifteen years at Farmers Insurance mostly as a dispatcher. He retired December 31, 2016. He and Vicki were enjoying their home in Spring Hill. Victor was member of the Mound City Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star Olive Chapter, Leawood United Methodist Church, and active in state Rainbow activities. His highest honor was being named State Rainbow Dad and gaining 400 "daughters". Vic was preceded in death by his parents and one niece. He is survived by his wife, Vicki of the home, son, Vernon of Olathe, grandchildren, Emily and Von, brother Gary and wife Jenny of Fulton, Missouri, sister, Mary of Forsythe, Illinois, and niece Julie and husband Randy and two great nieces. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. A Rainbow Service will be conducted at 2 pm followed by a Masonic Service. The family suggests contributions to Mound City Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund.
