Oral Rhynerson

Oral Hazel Rhynerson, age 101, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her home. She was born on October 15, 1917 in Mayview, Missouri the daughter of Lester and Ethel Mills Hoyt. She married Harold Henry "Pete" Rhynerson on January 6, 1940 at Butler, Missouri. He was called into active duty in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Hazel and Pete''s first child was born while he was overseas. She was a farm wife in every sense. She grew a big garden, raised chickens, and helped milk the cows. She was a wonderful cook, crocheted and was a seamstress, making clothing for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandchildren, Randy Hester and Tracy Jo Rhynerson; one great-grandson, Tyler Denman; son-in-law, Jerry Roper; and seven siblings, Lester Hoyt, Clarence Hoyt, J.W. Hoyt, Juanita Hoaglan, Edna Pauline Bell, Ella Hill, and Glenna Wallace. Hazel is survived by one son, Donnie Rhynerson and Deb; four daughters, Charlotte Hester and Gerald, LaNita Roper, Linda Findley and Robert, and Cleo Matthews and Jamie; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren plus one on the way.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, La Cygne, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time. Contributions are suggested to Oak Lawn Cemetery or Blue Mound Federated Church, c/o Schneider Funeral Home, P.O. Box J, Mound City, KS 66056.
