Orville Barnes

Orville "George" Barnes, age 75, Osawatomie, Kansas, died Friday April 4, 2008 at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie. He was born in Worth, Missouri on October 11, 1932 the son of Orville A. and Yvonne E. Wray Barnes. He was a Navy Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated a barber shop in Kansas City, Kansa s and later worked at Red's Barber Shop in Overland Park, Kansas. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Osawatomie, and the American Legion of Paola, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his first wife Velma Eleanor Barnes on October 27, 1976. He later married Betty Ostranger. Also preceding him was a brother Mervin Barnes. He is survived by a special friend Betty Ostrander, a son Brent Barnes and Renee of Olathe, Kansas, two daughters, Georgia McKinney and Dale of Lone Jack, Missouri, and Janet Wilson Kern Santana of LaCygne, Kansas, one sister Marilyn Pitts of Osawatomie, Kansas, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday April 8, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery.
