Peter Joseph Higgins, age 72 of Rich Hill, Missouri, died Saturday September, 21 2013 at the St Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on March 25 1941 at Mound City, Kansas the son of James and Margaret Gorman Higgins. Peter was a graduate of Mound City High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Nation Wide Mining. He loved farming, construction work, gardening, flowers, John Deer equipment, and his family especially his grandchildren. He married Janie Kirk on September 17, 1987 at Miami, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Ann Galloway and her husband Tom, a baby sister and a baby brother. Survivors his wife Janie of the home, two daughters: Jackie, and Janna, a step-son Tom Luney and wife Brandy, two step-daughters: April Krallman and Robbin Moodey and husband Larry, one brother James Higgins and wife Connie, six sisters: Shirley Corbin and husband Bruce, Rose Hutchison and husband George, Margaret Shepherd and husband Dale, Catherine Taylor and husband Bill, Elizabeth, McCurly and Husband Cedric, and Ruth Nation and husband L.D., and four step-grandchildren Shelbie and Landon Luney, and Laura and Kristen Mackey. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday September 28, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Mound City Chapel. The Family suggests contributions to the Peter Higgins Memorial Fund and may be left in c/o the Schneider funeral home and crematory P.O. box J Mound City, Kansas 66056.
