Phyllis Tillotson

Phyllis Ann (Kester) Tillotson, age 76, of Sugar Valley Lakes near Mound City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on December 22, 1941 at Laramie, Wyoming the daughter of Adelbert and Georgia Dale (Henry) Kester. She married Kermit Tillotson in 1959. Phyllis worked as an RN for 40 years in pediatrics at both St. Luke''s and St. John''s Hospitals in Kansas City. She worked in pediatric oncology and also helped with burn unit infants during her career. She was a member of the Mound City United Methodist Church. Phyllis loved going to their winter home in Texas where she was surrounded by many friends. Her passions included card games, cribbage and traveling. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Teddy Richardson. She leaves behind her husband, Kermit; a daughter, Kim and husband Mike, Hall of Piper, KS; two sons, Travis and his wife Lori Tillotson of Mildred, KS, and Shawn and his wife Missie Tillotson of Elephant Butte, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and beloved dog Jack. A service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Mound City United Methodist Church. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
