Ronald Lee Honn, age 74, Mound City, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Miami County Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born on July 8, 1943 at Hutchinson, Kansas the son of Marion and Alta Dicksen Honn. He graduated from Greeley High School. Ron married Mary Katherine "Kakie" Gilner on August 19, 1963 at Greeley, Kansas. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Knights of Columbus St. Rose Philippine Council #7446, and Past President of the Garnett Optimist Club. During his working career, Ron worked at several occupations. Included in these were: Leeds GM Assembly Plant, Garnett High School, Singer Electric, City of Garnett, City of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Capitol Electric, Louisburg Tractor Boyz, and as a salesman for John Deer in Garnett and later Butler, Missouri. And, in his retirement, was currently driving a school bus. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his wife, Kakie, three sons: Rodney Honn and Christine, Keith Honn and Denise, and Tim Honn and Dixie, a daughter, Pam Schuetz and Mark, two brothers, Martin and Gary Honn, two sisters, Betty Strain and Shirley Pierce and twelve grandchildren: Samantha Honn Dodds and husband Andy, Kaylla Honn, Rebecca Honn, Melissa Honn, Jesse Honn, Justin Honn, Bailey Honn, Jaclyn Honn, Tanner Schuetz, Tori Honn, Spencer Schuetz, and Grayson Schuetz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mound City. Burial will be in the St. John''s Cemetery, Greeley. The rosary will be prayed 4:30 pm Friday January 26 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Visitation will follow from 5 to 7 pm.
