Rosa Mikel

Rosa "Sharon" Mikel Rosa "Sharon" Mikel, age 65, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away at her home Friday, April 28, 2006. She was born on August 17, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri to Reese and Annabelle Stark Hiatt. She worked as an assembly worker for Millbanks Electrics during her working career. On September 19, 1985 she married David Mikel in Leavenworth, Kansas. Rosa was a member of the Lady Auxiliary VFW Leavenworth, Lady Auxiliary American Legion Leavenworth, and the Eagle Auxiliary. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, one son Carl Spawn, and one brother Boyd Hiatt. Rosa is survived by her husband David of the home, two sons; Mike Thompson of Lansing, Kansas and Joe Jolley and his wife Alene of Fort Scott, Kansas; one daughter Barbara Cooper of Arma, Kansas; one stepson David Mikel of Hurbert, North Carolina; one stepdaughter Donna Jones of Jacksonville, North Carolina; one brother Delbert Hiatt and his wife Thelma of Vacaville, California; two sisters, Marjie Brandow of North Kansas City, Missouri and Leana Olivas and husband Tom of Bolivar, Missouri; and eight grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaCygne, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until service time at the Coffel Schneider Chapel in LaCygne. Family suggests contributions to Hospice of Leavenworth.
