Rosemary Jane Johnson, age 80, of Pleasanton, Kansas died Saturday August 9, 2008 at Prescott Country View. She was born on February 4, 1928 at Pleasanton, Kansas the daughter of Roscoe and Edith Martin Staton. She graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1946. She married Shorty Johnson on June 18, 1946 at Elko, Nevada. Rosemary and Shorty enjoyed traveling and camping. Rosemary was an avid bowler and quilter and enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Rosemary worked as a key punch operator for the Internal Revenue Service and Richards Gebaur Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by a son, David Johnson on June 29, 2008, two sisters, Virginia Cox and Ora Lee Troth and an infant brother. Survivors include her husband Shorty of Pleasanton, one daughter Carolyn Semler and Jerry of Pecular, Missouri, a daughter in law Debbie Johnson of Harrisonville, Missouri, two brothers Rosco Staton and Janet of Cleveland, Missouri, Roy Staton and Pansy of Pleasanton, two sisters, Delyte Cantwell of Pleasanton and Zella Baston and Chet of Pleasanton, three grandchildren, Brian Semler and Maggie and Roy Johnson, and four great grand daughters: Libby, Courtney, Brianna and Katie Semler. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday August 12, 2008 at the Cofel-Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM Monday August 11, 2008 at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Prescott Country View or the Susan Koman Foundation.
