ROY DeVAUGHN COOK Roy DeVaughn Cook, 84, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Saturday June 24, 2006 at Prescott Country View Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. He was born May 10, 1922 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the son of Roy and Ethel King Cook. He married Julia Spence on September 4, 1949 in Osawatomie, Kansas. DeVaughn was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Signal Corp. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. DeVaughn owned and operated Cook's TV Center for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ethel Cook and an infant sister. Survivors include his wife, Julia of Pleasanton, Kansas, one daughter, Dianna Smith & husband, Don of LaHabra Heights, California; a son, Greg Cook of Claremore, Oklahoma; grandsons, Brian and Kevin Smith, Kyle and Eric Cook, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the Pleasanton Cemetery Association or Prescott Country View Nursing Home Activity Fund c/o of the funeral home.
