Ruby Roy

Ruby June Roy, age 68 of Cleveland, Missouri and LaCygne, KS formerly of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 29th at the Olathe Medical Center. She was born June 6,1940 In Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Pearl and Ester Jensen Olsted. She attended Argentine- Turner and Rosedale during her high school. She married Robert Curtin January 2, 1960. They had 4 children. Ruby later married Herbert Roy of Osawatomie , KS in 1983 and he preceded her in death in March of 1991. Ruby worked for Deluxe Check Printers in Lenexa for 10 years , then she worked for the SRS, Miami County Hospital and area nursing homes, but for the last 2 years worked for Walmart in South Overland Park and loved it because they were like family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Terrance Curtin, 2 half sisters Dorothy Hollingsworth and Betty Reynolds. Survivors include her significant other Donald Stewart of Cleveland , MO, one son Ron Curtin and wife Debbie of Olathe, KS; two daughters Christine Waddell and husband Rick of LaCygne, Ks and Jackie Brown and husband Mike of Tonganoxie, KS. ; Two sisters Jane Briseno and Grace Adams both of Independence , MO; two half sisters Marie Link of Kanas City, KS ; Barbara Justiss of Munds Park, AZ; 4 grandchildren , 5 step grandchildren and one great grandson. Services will be 11:00 am Friday August 1, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneidner Chapel in Lacygne, KS Visitation 6:30 to 8:00 pm Thursday evening. Family suggest contributions to the LaCygne Library.
