Shirley Johnson

Shirley Joan Johnson, age 76, La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born on November 4, 1938 in Liberty Township, Linn County, Kansas the daughter of Lowring and Sylvia Hodgson Harold. She married Marion Johnson December 24, 1954. She worked at McGee Insurance and for Linn County Bank before retirement. She served as a 4-H leader and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers, Leslie, Brian and Lowring and a grand daughter Michelle. Joan is survived by a son Rick Johnson and wife Brenda, sister Maxine Holt, four grandchildren: Amy, Sylvia, Zachary and Heather and six great grandchildren: Trevor, Dylan, Lucy, River, Nathan and Isabella. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in the Cadmus Cemetery. Eastern Star service will be held 5:30 p.m. Friday at the La Cygne Chapel followed by visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Contributions are suggested to the Joan Johnson Memorial Fund.
